Early Times Report NAGROTA, Aug 16: Sainik School Nagrota celebrated the 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour and pride, with the school's cadets and staff reaffirming their commitment to the nation and its values. The celebrations began with the hoisting of the National Flag by Capt (IN) Shibu Devasia, Principal, Sainik School Nagrota, followed by the National Anthem. Appreciation Certificates were also presented to selected staff members for their meritorious service and dedicated contribution to the school. Addressing the gathering, the Principal urged cadets and staff to remember the sacrifices of the nation's freedom fighters and emphasised that the best tribute to them is to serve the nation with sincerity, discipline, dedication and a strong sense of responsibility. The celebrations were made even more special by a remarkable achievement at the UT-level Independence Day ceremony at MA Stadium, Jammu. The Sainik School Nagrota Drill Contingent was adjudged the Best Drill Contingent, earning the school a prestigious honour on one of the most significant national occasions. The school's achievement did not stop there. The Sainik School Nagrota Band was awarded the Excellence Award for its performance, showcasing outstanding musical precision, synchronisation, discipline and ceremonial finesse. The twin honours - Best Drill Contingent and Excellence Award for the School Band - brought immense pride to Sainik School Nagrota and reflected the high standards of discipline, teamwork and excellence ingrained in its cadets. Congratulating the contingents, Capt (IN) Shibu Devasia appreciated the cadets for their hard work, perseverance and disciplined preparation. He also commended the Band Master and NCC PI Staff for their dedicated training, guidance and meticulous preparation, which contributed significantly to the outstanding performances. |
