UDHAMPUR, Aug 21: Senior Citizens Club (Regd.), Udhampur, celebrated its 6th Raising Day today with enthusiasm and participation from prominent citizens, social organisations, members of the business community, and representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Trade. The occasion was graced by Sh. Pawan Gupta, Hon'ble MLA Udhampur (West); Sh. Balwant Singh Mankotia, Hon'ble MLA Chenani-Ghordi; and Dr. Sunil Bhardwaj, Hon'ble MLA Ramnagar, who were the distinguished dignitaries on the occasion. The executive body of all branches of club, Chenani, Majalta, Ramnagar, Ghordi and Basantgarh attended the function. A special highlight of the programme was the launch of three books. Two books and its English edition, Elders: Legacy of Experience, authored by Mahadeep Singh Jamwal, were released along with books authored by Dr. Adarsh Prakash. Students of Brahmarishi Bawra School presented a colourful cultural programme, adding vibrancy to the celebrations. This was followed by a Yoga presentation by Raj Guru, General Secretary of the Club. The programme witnessed the participation of a large number of prominent citizens, representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Trade, business and trade organisations, and various social organisations, reflecting the growing recognition and community outreach of the Senior Citizens Club. The celebration also provided an opportunity to acknowledge the contribution and experience of senior citizens and reaffirm the Club's commitment to promoting their dignity, well-being and active participation in society. |
