Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 21: Continuing its sustained crackdown against drug trafficking and illicit narcotics under the ongoing anti-drug campaign, Police Station Miran Sahib has apprehended two suspected drug peddlers and recovered approximately 14-18 grams of heroin-like substance from their possession. The accused have been identified as Ravi Kumar S/o Des Raj, R/o Phinder, Tehsil R.S. Pura, and Badhir Din S/o Saif Ali, R/o Lalyana, Bishnah. During routine patrolling in the Phinder area, within the jurisdiction of Police Station Miran Sahib, a police party intercepted both persons on suspicion. During lawful search, approximately 06-08 grams of heroin-like substance and one OPPO mobile phone were recovered from Ravi Kumar, while approximately 08-10 grams of heroin-like substance and one OPPO mobile phone were recovered from Badhir Din. Both accused were taken into custody, and FIR No. 134/2026 under Sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Miran Sahib. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the source of the recovered contraband, its intended destination, and the forward and backward linkages of the accused. Police are also examining the possible involvement of other persons in the illegal drug supply chain. |
