| Samba police cracks down on drug supply chain, arrests two backward-linkage drug smugglers | | | Early Times Report SAMBA, Aug 26: In its sustained drive against drug trafficking, Samba Police has achieved significant breakthrough by arresting two drug smugglers during the course of backward linkage investigation in an NDPS case registered at Police Station Ramgarh. The operation was carried out as part of the investigation into NDPS case FIR No.54/2026 U/S 8/21/22/25 NDPS Act registered at Police Station Ramgarh on 01.08.2026 in which Police had recovered the contraband item and arrested the accused Vinod Kumar S/o Krishan Singh R/o Ambaran tehsil Akhnoor district Jammu. During the investigation, police developed the backward linkage of the case, leading to the identification of the two drug suppliers. Acting on the information, a police team of PS Ramgarh successfully apprehended the backward linkage accused identified Mohd Aquil S/o Dilawar Hussain and Irfan Sadotra S/o Yaqoob Hussain both residence of Dhamor Jakh Tehsil Vijaypur District Samba. The successful operation highlights the sustained efforts of Samba Police to identify and dismantle the entire supply chain by tracing both the suppliers and the recipients involved in narcotics trafficking. Further investigation of the case is going on. SSP Samba has appealed to the public to actively support the anti-drug campaign by sharing credible information about drug trafficking or suspicious activities with the nearest police station. The identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential. |
