| Samba police cracks murderous attack case at Supwal, arrests accused within hours | | |  Early Times Report
SAMBA, Aug 26: In a significant breakthrough, Samba Police has solved an attempt-to-murder case within hours of the incident, arresting the accused involved in a murderous attack on a man at Supwal under the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba.
Today on 26.08.2026, one lady namely Asha Rani W/o Rampal Kapoor R/o Supwal tehsil Vijaypur district Samba lodged a written complaint at Police Post Supwal stating that her son namely Anil Kumar was allegedly attacked by one Manik Sharma S/o Bhushan Sharma R/O Upper Supwal tehsil Vijaypur District Samba with a sharp-edged weapon (Darat) on his head and arm causing serious injuries. After the commission of the offence, the accused fled from the spot.
Acting swiftly over the complaint, a case FIR No. 246/2026 u/s 109,126(2),115(2) BNS, 4/25 Arms Act was registered at Police Station Samba and investigation started.
Taking cognizance into the matter, SSP Samba constituted a special team to work out the case and arrest the accused at the earliest. Accordingly, a dedicated police team of Police Post Supwal of PS Samba, launched sustained efforts to trace and apprehend the accused.
Following meticulous investigation, technical assistance and sustained field efforts, the police team succeeded in arresting accused Manik Sharma S/o Bhushan Sharma R/O Upper Supwal tehsil Vijaypur District Samba within 04 hours and recovering the weapon of offence, i.e. Darat.
Further investigation of the case is going on.
