DEORIA, Aug 29: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, exposing the corruption of the Samajwadi Party, stated, "The initial cost of the JPNIC (Jaiprakash Narayan International Centre) built in Lucknow was only Rs 200 crore. The SP spent Rs 864 crore on it, yet it remained incomplete. This was not the money of the 'Saifai Syndicate', but the money of the people of the state. These people used to squander public money like water. If the government had invested money in it now, at least another Rs 150-200 crore would have been spent. They wanted to spend Rs 900-1000 crore from the government treasury and hand over this centre to a private company, which included Akhilesh, Dimple and Dharmendra Yadav." The Chief Minister was addressing a gathering on Saturday after inaugurating/laying the foundation stones for 80 development projects worth Rs 305 crore for the development of Salempur and Bhatpar Rani assembly constituencies. He greeted the sea of people gathered on the land of Baba Dugdheshwar Nath and also spoke about the plight before 2017 and the positive changes that came thereafter. The CM stated, "The SP intended that the JPNIC, built with government money, would be run by a private company. It would have a hotel, club, gym etc., and the earnings would also go to the family. Akhilesh Yadav, Dimple Yadav, Dharmendra Yadav and their associates were forming a private company and carrying out a robbery on the state treasury. When our government came to power in 2017, we handed it over to the Lucknow Development Authority, which conducted an inquiry. After the report came, an advertisement was issued. We were not ready to spend more money on this project. Rather, the government has initiated arrangements so that even the money already spent should come back to the government treasury. The money that could have provided employment to the youth, built flyovers, innovation centres, universities etc., was being looted from the state treasury for their own indulgence. The SP chief who committed this sin should apologise to the people."
The CM described the SP as synonymous with plunder and a gang of dacoits, stating, "Before 2017, the slogan 'Dekh Sapai-Bitiya Ghabraai' used to prevail. Parents and brothers remained worried about the safety of their daughters. When we were going to launch the free bus service on August 26, the sleep of SP's Babua was broken and he hurriedly called a press conference. He did not even know what he had to say. He stated that Rs 40,000 would be taken from people. He did not even know that this was a programme to give, not to take." |
