Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 31: Under the aegis of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Regional Office, Jammu, the 37th Two-Day Youth Parliament Competition was successfully inaugurated at PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1, Jammu. Eight teams from various Kendriya Vidyalayas of Jammu Division participated in the competition with great zeal and enthusiasm. MLA, Bahu Constituency, Vikram Randhawa graced the occasion as the chief guest. The other eminent dignitaries present on the occasion were Janab Islam Khan, Assistant Commissioner, KVS, RO Jammu; Amit Walter, Principal, KV No. 2, Akhnoor and Bhushan Kumar, Principal, KV No. 1, Akhnoor. The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest and other dignitaries. A melodious welcome song was presented by the students of the host school. The dignitaries were accorded a green welcome with saplings. Akash Gupta, Principal, PM SHRI KV No. 1 Jammu and Venue Principal, delivered the welcome address and extended a hearty welcome to all guests, teachers and participants. Janab Islam Khan, Assistant Commissioner, RO Jammu, briefed the students about the rules and regulations of the Youth Parliament Competition and motivated them to actively participate in such co-curricular activities in future as well. The event was adjudged by a distinguished jury comprising MLA Vikram Randhawa, Janab Islam Khan, Assistant Commissioner, RO Jammu, Amit Walter, Principal, KV No. 2 Akhnoor and Bhushan Kumar, Principal, KV No. 1 Akhnoor.
