| Second consecutive victory at Panjab University is a clear sign of growing trust in BJP among Punjab's youth: Satnam Singh Sandhu | | | Early Times Report CHANDIGARH, Aug 31: Rajya Sabha Member Satnam Singh Sandhu has termed the victory of ABVP candidate Ankit Bidhan by a huge margin for the post of President in the Panjab University Campus Students' Council elections as a clear indication of the growing trust of Punjab's youth in the BJP and the increasing support for the politics of development. Sandhu said that ABVP being elected to the post of President for the second consecutive time at Panjab University is, in itself, an important political message. The aware and conscious students of Panjab University, counted among the country's leading and prestigious universities, have given an answer through their mandate to several misconceptions being created about the younger generation. He said, "The message of this result is clear-the youth of today stands firmly with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of 'Viksit Bharat' and sees its dreams, hopes and future in it. The youth wants progress, employment and new opportunities and seeks active participation in the country's development journey." Sandhu said that Panjab University is an important centre of the thoughts and concerns of the youth of Punjab and Chandigarh. Therefore, the mandate emerging from here conveys an important message beyond the boundaries of the campus. The youth of Punjab wants progress, opportunities, investment, innovation and prosperity-not frustration and confrontation. He said, "The new generation of Punjab wants a Punjab where it is not compelled to leave its birthplace to fulfil its dreams; where there is employment, industries come in, investment increases and the talent of young people gets opportunities to move forward. A developed and prosperous Punjab alongside a developed India-this is the hope and aspiration of today's youth." Sandhu said that the trust reposed by students for the second consecutive time reflects that the BJP's dialogue with the youth of Punjab is becoming stronger. The support being received from the new generation for politics that places development, opportunities and the future at its centre is also a positive message for Punjab. Sandhu congratulated Ankit Bidhan and the entire ABVP team on this impressive victory and specially appreciated the efforts of former President Gaurav Veer Singh Sohal and his team. He said that the work undertaken for students' issues during the previous term and the trust built with them laid a strong foundation for today's victory. He also congratulated youth leader Gaurav Attri, saying that under his leadership and guidance, the ABVP team contested the elections with full energy, discipline and unity and effectively communicated its message to the students. Sandhu also congratulated Bharatiya Janata Party National President Nitin Nabin on this victory, saying that the support received from the new generation under the leadership of a National President who himself represents young leadership holds special significance. Sandhu said, "The students of Panjab University have given a clear message through their vote-the youth is looking towards the future, wants to move forward and wants to become a partner in the journey towards a developed India. The youth of Punjab too sees the future of a prosperous, developed and opportunity-rich Punjab in this very development journey." |
