| Jammu police detain two tractors for illegal transportation of mining material in Khour | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 31: Continuing its crackdown on illegal mining and unauthorized transportation of minor minerals, Jammu Police detained two tractors found transporting mining material without requisite legal permission/documents. During naka checking, a Police Party of Police Station Khour intercepted two tractors bearing Registration No. JK06-4882 (Swaraj) loaded with stone and another tractor (Massey) without registration number, loaded with sand. During enquiry, the drivers of both tractors failed to produce any valid permission or requisite documents authorizing the transportation of the mining material on the spot. Accordingly, the tractors were detained under the relevant provisions of law for illegal transportation of minor minerals. The District Mining Officer (DMO), Jammu, has been informed for further necessary legal action under the applicable mining laws and regulations. Jammu Police reiterated that strict action will continue against illegal mining and unauthorized transportation of minor minerals to curb violations, protect natural resources and safeguard government revenue. |
