Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 1: Senior BJP leader and Convenor, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao J&K UT, Ritika Trehan, interacted with women and little girls from marginalized sections of society during her visit to Channi Himmat, taking direct feedback on the implementation of various welfare and empowerment schemes of the Central Government.
During the interaction, Trehan sat with the women and girl children, listened to their experiences and personally enquired whether the benefits of welfare schemes were reaching eligible families at the grassroots level.
She specifically reviewed the reach of schemes and initiatives including free ration, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Ayushman Bharat health cards, girls' education and Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana. She expressed satisfaction that a number of families were benefiting from these initiatives, while noting that some families still require guidance and handholding to access the benefits available to them.
Ritika Trehan said that women and girls from economically weaker and marginalized sections must remain at the centre of welfare and empowerment initiatives, adding that awareness and last-mile delivery are equally important for ensuring that no eligible beneficiary is left behind.
"Public service is not merely about framing policies; it is about ensuring that the benefits of those policies reach the last person in the line. This is the spirit of Antyodaya envisioned by Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji," she said.
She assured the women that their concerns would be noted and that all possible assistance would be extended in guiding them towards the appropriate welfare schemes and benefits.
Trehan also emphasized the importance of educating and empowering the girl child, stating that initiatives such as Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana are helping families secure a stronger and more dignified future for their daughters.
