Senior BJP leader and RS MP appreciates Modi Govt's reforms and India's growth
9/2/2026 12:29:15 AM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 1: A senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP today appreciated the sustained growth of the Indian economy and the transformative impact of the reform-oriented policies of the Modi government.
Highlighting recent developments across key sectors, the MP said India's passenger electric vehicle market has witnessed remarkable momentum, with the electric passenger vehicle segment growing by 102 per cent year-on-year in Q2 2026, significantly outpacing the broader passenger vehicle market. Electric vehicles are projected to account for 7-8 per cent of the passenger vehicle market by the end of 2026, reflecting the growing adoption of clean mobility.
The MP also welcomed the rapid expansion of technology-enabled mobility, with connected passenger vehicles and advanced driver-assistance systems recording strong growth. SUVs now account for around 58 per cent of the passenger vehicle market, demonstrating the strength and changing preferences of India's automobile consumers.
Appreciating the government's efforts toward efficient utilisation of public resources, the MP noted that the six-year government scrap-clean-up drive has generated approximately ?6,000 crore in revenue while freeing 12.33 crore square feet of space. This reflects the Modi government's emphasis on transparency, efficiency and productive utilisation of government assets.
The MP further highlighted significant improvements in grievance redressal through CPGRAMS, where the average disposal time has declined from 28 days in 2019 to 14 days in June 2026. With more than one crore grievances received by the Centre since 2019, the faster resolution of public complaints demonstrates the government's commitment to responsive and citizen-centric governance.
On the agriculture and renewable-energy front, the MP welcomed the progress under PM-KUSUM, under which nearly one million standalone solar pumps have been installed and more than 1.1 million grid-connected pumps have been solarised. More than 21.77 lakh farmers had benefited from the scheme as of December 2025. The proposed PM-KUSUM 2.0 initiative, including a dedicated 10 GW Agri-PV component, can further enable farmers to become producers of clean energy and create additional income opportunities.
The MP also noted the strong performance of India's capital markets, with nearly $10 billion in equity deals priced in August 2026, making it a record month. The successful market debut of companies and strong investor participation reflect growing confidence in India's economic fundamentals and future growth prospects.
The senior BJP leader said these developments demonstrate that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is steadily moving towards a more modern, technology-driven, sustainable and citizen-centric economy.
"From electric mobility and renewable energy to faster grievance redressal, efficient use of government resources and deepening capital markets, India's progress is visible across sectors. The Modi government's reforms are creating new opportunities for citizens, farmers, entrepreneurs and investors, strengthening the foundation for a developed and self-reliant India," the MP said.
The MP expressed confidence that the government's continued focus on reforms, innovation, infrastructure and inclusive development will accelerate India's journey towards becoming a Viksit Bharat.
