Shri Krishna Janmashtami celebrated with religious fervour across Ramban District

RAMBAN, Sept 4: Shri Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated with religious fervour, devotion and gaiety across Ramban district. Grand Shobha Yatras were taken out in Ramban, Batote and other parts of the district. Thousands of devotees including men, women and children participated in the celebrations.
At the district headquarters Ramban, Shobha Yatras was taken out from various temples and passed through Shan Palace, Court Road, Upper Bazaar, Cafeteria Morh, Bus Stand, Lower Maitra, Upper Maitra, Masjid Market and other adjoining areas before culminating at Raghunath Mandir, Bowali Bazaar.
Before commencement of the Shobha Yatra, special Pooja of the beautifully decorated Jhankis was performed at various temples. The processions witnessed enthusiastic participation from devotees, who chanted religious slogans and accompanied the Jhankis with traditional drum beats.
The temples and other prominent locations across Ramban district were specially decorated to mark the auspicious occasion. Devotees and locals across the society accorded a warm welcome to the Jhankis at different places, showering flowers as the procession passed through the town.
A large rush of devotees was witnessed at temples across the district, particularly at Raghunath Mandir Ramban, where hundreds of devotees offered prayers and sought blessings of Lord Krishna and Radha. The temples were beautifully decorated and devotional activities continued throughout the day.
The District Administration Ramban, under the overall supervision of Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan had made elaborate security and other necessary arrangements to ensure the smooth and peaceful conduct of the religious processions.
At Ramban, Additional Deputy Commissioner Varunjeet Singh Charak, Tehsildar Deep Kumar, Dy. SP Hqr. Waqar Bhat, senior officers of the civil and police administration accompanied the procession and personally monitored the arrangements.
In Batote And Chanderkote also, grand Shobha Yatra were taken out on the eve of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, witnessing participation of a large number of devotees and locals. The procession passed through different parts of the town amid chanting of religious slogans and devotional fervour.
ACR Shokat Hayat Mattoo, Dy. SP DAR Kuldeep Sharma, Tehsildar Vijay Sharma and other officers participated in the Shobha Yatra.
