SAMBA, Sept 4: In a proactive security initiative aimed at strengthening area domination, enhancing vigilance and maintaining close coordination with the local population, Samba Police today conducted a joint Search-cum-Area Domination Exercise with BSF 52 Bn in the border areas within the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal.
The joint exercise commenced from village Regal and covered the areas extending towards Chillerian, Nadala and Ploora, with security personnel conducting intensive checking and area domination along the identified routes and vulnerable stretches.
During the exercise, a joint special Naka was established at a strategic location. The naka was supervised by Addl. SP Samba, assisted by DySP SOG Samba and an Inspector-level officer of BSF 52 Bn. Personnel deployed at the naka carried out thorough checking of vehicles and their occupants, while maintaining heightened alertness throughout the exercise.
As part of the exercise, police personnel also interacted with local residents and sensitised them about the importance of community participation in maintaining security and preventing any untoward incident. The locals were provided/shared with the contact numbers of Samba Police including PCR Samba and SOG Samba and were advised to immediately communicate any information regarding suspicious persons, movements, vehicles or any other unusual activity noticed in their respective areas.
SSP Samba stated that the joint exercise was conducted with the objective of enhancing security preparedness, strengthening inter-agency coordination, increasing police visibility and instilling a sense of security among the local population. SSP Samba further assured the public that every credible input received from citizens would be assessed promptly and acted upon appropriately.
