CHENANI, Sept 4: BJP senior leader and Rajya Sabha MP, Er. Gulam Ali Khatana, today said that the teachings of Lord Krishna are highly relevant in the present times and should be promoted among the younger generation.
Khatana was speaking on the sacred occasion of Janmashtami at a programme organised by Ever Green School, Chenani, where schoolchildren presented colourful and meaningful programmes highlighting the life and teachings of Lord Krishna.
Addressing the gathering, Khatana said that society must encourage children to remain connected with their traditional values and cultural heritage while simultaneously providing them with modern education and knowledge.
He cautioned that early exposure to negative influences can be dangerous for minor children and stressed that youngsters should be guided towards the positive and constructive use of technology. He said technology should be used as a tool for learning, creativity and personal development rather than allowing it to become a source of harmful influences.
The Rajya Sabha MP further said that the purpose of education should go beyond merely securing employment, running businesses or making legislation. According to him, education should enable human beings to understand the universe, appreciate the importance of life and recognise their responsibilities towards different living creatures and society.
Khatana said that Lord Krishna's teachings provide valuable guidance on duty, truth, courage, compassion and righteous conduct. He emphasised that the younger generation should be made aware of these timeless values so that they can contribute positively to society.

Balwan; Shazia, former Councillor Chenani; Retd. Lecturer Sanjay Kumar; Abhishek Jamwal; and Govind, besides other prominent citizens, parents, teachers and students.
While concluding, Khatana called upon parents, teachers and educational institutions to promote the teachings of Lord Krishna among children and help them develop into responsible, compassionate and morally strong citizens.
