| Samba police foils major bovine smuggling attempt; rescues 18 bovines, seizes vehicle | | | Early Times Report
SAMBA, Sept 9: Continuing its drive against bovine smugglers and their propagators, Samba Police has successfully foiled a major bovine smuggling attempt within the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal and rescued eighteen (18) bovines. The truck used in the illegal transportation of bovines has also been seized.
Acting on information received from reliable sources, a team of Police Station Ghagwal during vehicle checking duty at NHW Naka Tapyal, intercepted a truck bearing registration No. HR58F-4684 which was coming from the Kathua side and moving towards the Samba side. During search and checking, eighteen bovines were found inside the vehicle which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally without any valid permission.
A case FIR No. 90/2026 u/s 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation started.
Samba Police reiterated its firm commitment to curbing bovine smuggling, illegal transportation of animals and assured that strict legal action will be taken against all persons found involved in such unlawful activities. |
