| Rural police Jammu cracks two theft cases; two accused arrested, stolen property worth approx Rs 17 lakh recovered | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 9: In a significant success, Rural Police Jammu has cracked two theft cases registered at Police Station Domana with the arrest of two accused persons and recovery of stolen gold/silver articles and cash worth approximately Rs 17 lakh. The cases were registered as FIR No. 180/2026 and FIR No. 189/2026 under Sections 331(4) and 305 BNS following theft complaints received on 20.08.2026 and 02.09.2026. During investigation, police teams constituted by PS Domana, with the assistance of technical surveillance and CCTV footage, identified and apprehended the accused persons, namely: Shubam Kumar S/o Satish Kumar R/o Gurha Brahmana, Jammu Sahil Kumar S/o Subash Chander R/o Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu Based on their disclosure and subsequent investigation, gold/silver articles worth approximately Rs 15 lakh and cash amounting to about Rs 2 lakh were recovered in connection with the two cases. Investigation further revealed that the accused allegedly used a scooty bearing a fake registration number plate while committing thefts in different areas to conceal their identity and evade detection. Preliminary investigation has also revealed their involvement in multiple previous cases registered at different police stations. Further investigation is underway to ascertain their involvement in other theft incidents and to recover additional stolen property. |
