Early Times Report VIJAYPUR, Sept 9: The Police Technical Training Institute (PTTI), Vijaypur, organised a comprehensive Health Awareness Lecture for its officers, instructors, staff and trainees with the objective of promoting preventive healthcare, personal hygiene and awareness regarding common seasonal ailments. The programme was inaugurated by Ranjit Singh Sambyal, IPS, Principal, PTTI Vijaypur. On the occasion, Dr. Sanjay Sharma, Consultant Physician, Police Hospital, Jammu, was invited as the resource person to deliver an informative lecture on "Common Ailments in Summer and Rainy Season & Precautionary Measures." Addressing approximately 700 participants, comprising officers, instructors, staff and BRTC trainees, Dr. Sharma sensitized the participants about common illnesses and health-related complications prevalent during the summer and rainy seasons. He explained the causes, symptoms, preventive measures and appropriate management of common viral and bacterial infections, while emphasizing the importance of maintaining personal hygiene, consuming safe food and water, and seeking timely medical advice. Dr. Sharma further highlighted the health risks associated with self-medication and advised the participants to avoid taking medicines without proper medical consultation, particularly where symptoms persist or complications are suspected. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Ranjit Singh Sambyal, IPS, Principal, PTTI Vijaypur, appreciated the valuable contribution of Dr. Sanjay Sharma and emphasized that health awareness and preventive healthcare are integral to maintaining the physical fitness, operational efficiency and overall well-being of police personnel and trainees. The Principal expressed his gratitude to Dr. Sharma for sparing his valuable time and sharing his professional expertise with the personnel and trainees of the Institute. The programme concluded with a renewed commitment by PTTI Vijaypur towards promoting a healthy, disciplined and medically aware police force, in keeping with the Institute's objective of ensuring the holistic development and welfare of its trainees and personnel. |
