JAMMU, Sept 12: Young achiever Arjunveer Singh, a Class XI student of Air Force School Jammu, captivated students with his remarkable journey spanning science, innovation, research and Sanskrit, as Delhi Public School Jammu launched its new 'OUT OF THE BOX - Gen Next Icons' series with an engaging and thought-provoking Youth Icons Motivation Session. A multifaceted young achiever, Arjunveer has distinguished himself not only through his innovative thinking and scientific pursuits but also through his deep interest in Sanskrit and India's rich intellectual heritage. During the session, he recited Sanskrit shlokas and spoke passionately about the language, presenting Sanskrit not merely as an ancient language but as a living repository of knowledge, wisdom and intellectual thought. His interaction with the students beautifully reflected how scientific curiosity, innovation, cultural rootedness and a spirit of service can come together to create meaningful impact.
The session was organised under the inspiring leadership and guidance of Founder and Pro Vice Chairperson Kunwarani Dr. Ritu Singh , who launched the 'OUT OF THE BOX - Gen Next Icons' initiative with the vision of connecting students with inspiring young role models whose journeys demonstrate that age is no barrier to dreaming, creating or making a difference.
Through this purposeful initiative, Kunwarani Dr. Ritu Singh seeks to encourage students to step beyond the familiar, believe in their abilities and develop the confidence to explore new ideas and possibilities. Her message to the students is simple yet powerful: "Dream beyond the ordinary, believe in yourself and never be afraid to think differently."
Designed to take students beyond the conventional boundaries of classroom learning, the initiative seeks to bring inspiring young achievers and role models into direct conversation with students, enabling them to learn not merely from textbooks, but from real journeys, real challenges, real failures and real stories of perseverance and achievement.
The programme is founded on the belief that young minds are shaped by the people they see, the stories they hear and the possibilities they are encouraged to imagine. Through these sessions, DPS Jammu aims to expose students to diverse journeys of achievement and help them develop the confidence, skills and mindset required to navigate an increasingly dynamic future.
More than a motivational platform, the initiative seeks to nurture goal-setting, confidence, resilience, problem-solving, curiosity, leadership and emotional strength among students. It encourages them to set meaningful academic and personal goals, work towards them with determination and, most importantly, learn to view setbacks and challenges not as obstacles, but as opportunities to learn, adapt and grow.
The inaugural session featured Arjunveer Singh, a Class XI student of Air Force School Jammu, whose diverse accomplishments in science, innovation, research and Sanskrit offered students a compelling example of how curiosity, compassion, scientific thinking and cultural rootedness can come together to create meaningful impact.
The programme commenced with a formal introduction and warm welcome by Head Boy, DPS Jammu, Samanyu Sharma, who introduced the audience to Arjunveer's remarkable accomplishments and diverse areas of interest.
During the interaction, Arjunveer spoke about his innovative product aimed at making farming easier and more efficient. Sharing the inspiration behind his idea, he explained how national news reports highlighting the challenges and distress faced by farmers prompted him to think of a technological solution that could help address a real-world problem.
His innovation uses sensors to assess soil quality and detect moisture levels in the soil, helping farmers understand soil conditions and make more informed decisions regarding their crops. Explaining the concept and functioning of his innovation in a simple and engaging manner, Arjunveer demonstrated to the students how an observation can become an idea, an idea can become an innovation and an innovation can become a solution for society.
His journey of recognition was equally inspiring. Arjunveer shared that his work has received appreciation from various universities, IITs and government institutions, along with several prizes, awards and letters of recognition. His achievements have also provided him opportunities to interact with eminent personalities including Dr. Jitendra Singh, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, President Smt. Droupadi Murmu and Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir Shri Manoj Sinha Ji.
The session also celebrated India's rich cultural and intellectual heritage. Arjunveer recited Sanskrit shlokas and spoke passionately about his interest in the ancient language. Beyond the rhythmic chanting of shlokas and verses, Sanskrit was illuminated as a living language of profound wisdom, knowledge and intellectual richness. |
