Sardar Parkash Singh Badal College of Management & Technology, Gidderbaha, celebrated Teachers’ Day 2026 with enthusiasm and dignity at the college Multipurpose Hall. The programme brought together faculty members and students to recognize the invaluable contribution of teachers to education and society. The celebration centered on the thought-provoking theme “From Chalkboard to AI – Why Teachers Still Matter More Than Ever.” The theme reflected the transformation taking place in education as Artificial Intelligence becomes an increasingly important part of teaching and learning. At the same time, it reinforced the message that technology cannot replace the human qualities that make teaching meaningful. Prof. M. M. Saxena, Vice-Chancellor, Tantia University, Sri Ganganagar, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Prof. Yadwinder Pal Sharma, Assistant Director, CDC, MRS-PTU, Bathinda, attended as the Guest of Honour. The programme was organised under the able leadership of Principal Dr. R. K. Uppal, whose vision and continued emphasis on academic excellence were appreciated by the participants. The stage proceedings were conducted by Prof. Kezia Arora and Mr. Gurjeet Singh, who welcomed the dignitaries and coordinated the programme effectively. Their confident presentation contributed to the success and vibrancy of the celebration.Teachers understand the individual needs of students motivate them during difficulties and help them develop confidence, discipline and ethical judgment. The speakers urged students to use AI responsibly and productively while preserving the values of respect, integrity and hard work. Technology, they said, should complement teachers rather than diminish the teacher-student relationship. The celebration also paid tribute to the institution’s founder, Late Bibi Surinder Kaur Badal, whose educational vision continues to inspire the institution. The contribution of the college management in promoting quality education was also acknowledged. The programme created a warm atmosphere of gratitude, with students expressing appreciation for their teachers and recognizing their role in shaping their academic, personal and professional journeys.
