Chandigarh, Sept 14: The Postgraduate Department of Hindi and Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, in collaboration with Akhil Bharatiya Kavi Parishad, organised a special programme to commemorate Hindi Diwas. The programme featured an insightful lecture on the career opportunities available to students of Hindi, followed by a vibrant Kavi Sammelan. Delivering the keynote lecture, Dr. Ashwani Shandilya, noted Hindi scholar, highlighted the expanding professional avenues available to students with proficiency in Hindi. He spoke about opportunities in translation, anchoring, content writing, AI language models and prompt engineering, besides careers in entertainment and cinema, freelancing, mass media and civil services. He emphasised that Hindi, in the contemporary digital and technological landscape, has emerged as a language offering diverse and promising career possibilities. He encouraged students to develop strong language skills alongside digital competencies to successfully navigate the evolving employment landscape. The subsequent Kavi Sammelan brought together several noted poets and literary personalities, offering the audience an engaging presentation of Hindi poetry. The programme was graced by Shri Sanjeev Goyal as the Chief Guest. Shri Rajesh Roy, IRS (Retd.), Shri Prem Vij, eminent writer and poet, and Shri K. K. Sharma, President, Khadi Seva Sangh, were the Special Guests. Shri Saubhagyvardhan, noted Hindi Scholar and Poet, Smt.Kadambari Vardhan, Renowned Painter, Dr. Aneesh Garg, Vice-President, Chandigarh Sahitya Akademi, and Dr. Vinod Sharma, noted writer and poet, also graced the celebration. The poetry session featured invited poets Shri Yash Kansal and Smt. Manju Chauhan, along with cultural presentations and poetry recitations by the students and faculty members. |
