JAMMU, Sept 17: The Omar Abdullah-led Government is firmly committed to framing and implementing pro-student policies aimed at addressing the genuine educational, employment and career-related concerns of the youth of Jammu and Kashmir, said Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President, J&K National Conference.
Gupta was interacting with a delegation of students headed by Harshvardhan Singh, President, JKNC Students Wing, Jammu, which called on him and apprised him of various issues confronting students in Jammu Province in the Presence of Vijay Lochan Chairman SC Cell and Dharampal Kundal. Students thanked Omar Abdullah for implementation of Mission Yuva scheme in J&K which is generating 1.25 lakhs new units and also generating employment more than 4.5 Lakhs.
The delegation highlighted several concerns, including employment opportunities, timely conduct of competitive examinations, recruitment delays, scholarships, fee concessions, hostel and transport facilities, skill development, better educational infrastructure, career counselling and opportunities for higher and professional education.
Rattan Lal Gupta gave the delegation a patient hearing and assured them that their genuine concerns would be taken up with the concerned authorities. He said that students are the future of Jammu and Kashmir and that their aspirations cannot be ignored.
He said the Omar-led Government is committed to strengthening the education sector, improving facilities for students in both urban and rural areas, promoting skill development and creating an environment in which young people can pursue education and build their careers with dignity and confidence.
Gupta further emphasized the need for greater opportunities in higher education, vocational training, entrepreneurship and sports, particularly for students belonging to economically weaker sections and remote areas. He called upon the JKNC Students Wing to remain connected with students at the grassroots level and regularly highlight their genuine problems so that appropriate measures can be pursued with the Government.
"The aspirations of students are the aspirations of J&K's future. The National Conference will continue to stand with the student community and work for policies that promote education, skills, employment and equal opportunities," Gupta said. |
