Dr Darakhshan reviews arrangements for Annual Urs at historic Dastgeer Sahib Shrine

SRINAGAR, Sept 17: Chairperson, J&K Waqf Board and Minister of State, Dr. Syed Darakhshan Andrabi today visited the historic Dastgeer Sahib Shrine at Khanyar, Srinagar, and reviewed the arrangements being put in place for devotees, particularly in view of the ongoing Urs days. Dr. Andrabi paid obeisance at the revered shrine and prayed for the welfare, peace and prosperity of all. During her visit, she inspected the cleanliness arrangements, facilities for devotees and the ongoing developmental and beautification works being executed by the J&K Waqf Board. Waqf Board Member Syed Mohammad Haqqani and Ishtiyaq Mohiuddin, Executive Magistrate & Tehsildar also accompanied the Chairperson during the visit. Dr. Andrabi directed the concerned officials to ensure the timely completion of all ongoing works while maintaining the sanctity, dignity and historic heritage of the shrine. She also took detailed feedback from the officials regarding the facilities being provided to devotees visiting the shrine.
Sharing details of the various initiatives undertaken by the Waqf Board, Dr. Andrabi said that special attention has been given to ensuring better facilities and a comfortable, clean and spiritually serene environment for devotees, especially during the Urs days. The Chairperson expressed happiness over the positive public response to the developmental works, facilities and beautification initiatives undertaken at the shrine. She said that the Waqf Board, as a team, has been working tirelessly to transform spiritual shrines across J&K into places of serenity, cleanliness and piety, equipped with the infrastructure and facilities required by devotees. Dr. Andrabi said that preserving the spiritual character and heritage of these revered places remains central to the Waqf Board's developmental vision, alongside providing modern facilities and ensuring better management for devotees. Waqf Board Officials Er. Qazi Mushtaq, Executive Engineer, & Ashiq Hussain Wani, Administrator, Dastgeer Sahib Ziyarat also accompanied the Chairperson.
