Jammu, Sept 18: With the aim of promoting mental health, stress management, positive human behaviour and mental alertness during duty among the running staff, Northern Railway, Jammu Division today organized a “Mental Health and Stress Management Programme for Running Staff” successfully at the Conference Hall, Divisional Manager’s Office, Jammu on 18th September. The programme was organized under the leadership of Divisional Railway Manager, Jammu, Shri Vivek Kumar and under the guidance of Sr. Divisional Electrical Engineer (Traction), Jammu, Shri Gurnam Singh. Running staff of various categories posted at Jammu Headquarters participated in large numbers and benefited from counselling and awareness sessions related to mental health and stress management. During the programme, experts provided detailed counselling on important subjects like stress management, mind control techniques, memory improvement, pain management, human behaviour and psychological issues. The main objective of the programme was to enable the running staff to deal effectively with stressful situations, maintain concentration and mental alertness, and remain aware of better mental and physical health during duty. Chief Loco Inspectors and running staff of various categories participated in the programme. Practical suggestions were provided to the running staff regarding performing duty in a stress-free manner. Through the programme, the running staff were made aware of practical measures to control stress as per the nature of their work, improve concentration and self-control, and remain aware of their mental and physical health.
The objectives of the programme included improvement in mental and physical health and creating awareness about human behaviour and psycho-social problems. |
