| SSP Reasi conducts Thana Diwas at Ransoo, reviews security of Shiv Khori shrine | | |  Early Times Report
REASI, Sept 21: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Reasi today conducted Thana Diwas at Ransoo, the base camp of the revered Shiv Khori Shrine, with the objective of strengthening police-public interaction and addressing the concerns of the local community.
SSP was accompanied by DySP SOG Pouni and SHO Police Station Pouni. He patiently heard the grievances, suggestions and concerns raised by the local residents and assured them of prompt and timely redressal of genuine issues. He reiterated that Reasi Police remains committed to providing a responsive, accessible and people-oriented policing system.
He urged the public to remain vigilant and promptly share information regarding any suspicious movement or drug-related activities with the police. He also sensitised the public about ERSS-112, urging citizens to use the emergency helpline whenever immediate police assistance is required. He further urged local shopkeepers to install CCTV cameras to ensure comprehensive surveillance and minimise blind spots in the area.
As part of the Civic Action Programme, SSP assured the local youth and residents that a volleyball tournament would soon be organised at Ransoo, with the objective of engaging youth in constructive activities, promoting a healthy lifestyle and preventing them from falling prey to drug abuse, while further strengthening police-public relations.
Later, He conducted a comprehensive security review of the Shiv Khori Shrine and its adjoining areas in coordination with CRPF and local police formations. He directed DySP SOG Pouni, SHO Police Station Pouni, In-Charge Police Post Shiv Khori, In-Charge SOG posts and the concerned CRPF personnel to remain alert and vigilant, ensure a safe and secure environment for pilgrims, and maintain effective ground-level intelligence, patrolling and area domination.
Particular emphasis was laid on the security of the pilgrimage track and parking areas, effective area domination of the adjoining forests and hills, and ensuring foolproof Road Opening Parties (ROPs) along the route leading to Shiv Khori. SSP Reasi reiterated that the safety and security of pilgrims and the local community remain the top priority of Reasi Police and called for continued cooperation and coordination from the public in maintaining a safe and secure environment. |
