| Samba police foils major bovine smuggling attempt rescues 12 bovines, seizes vehicle | | |

SAMBA, Sept 23: Continuing its drive against bovine smugglers and their propagators, Samba Police has successfully foiled a major bovine smuggling attempt within the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal and rescued twelve (12) bovines. The tractor trolley used in the illegal transportation of bovines has also been seized. Acting on information received from reliable sources, a team of Police Station Ghagwal during vehicle checking duty at NHW Naka Tapyal, intercepted a tractor trolley without registration No. which was coming from the Kathua side and moving towards the Samba side. During search and checking, twelve bovines were found inside the vehicle which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally without any valid permission.
In an apparent attempt to conceal the illegal transportation and evade police detection, the bovines had been tactfully concealed inside the tractor-trolley under a load of paddy straw. The alertness and timely intervention of the police team resulted in the successful rescue of all twelve bovines.
A case FIR No. 95/2026 u/s 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation started. |
