JAMMU, Sept 24: Under the ongoing 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan', the BJP OBC Morcha, Jammu & Kashmir, organised a series of service-oriented and environmental conservation activities across Jammu and Kashmir, focusing on extending support to needy people and promoting awareness about environmental protection.
A ration distribution programme was organised at the Kushth Ashram in Ward No. 14, Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu, where ration and essential food items were distributed among needy residents. The programme was organised by Arun Sethi, District President, BJP OBC Morcha, Jammu, with the participation of senior Morcha functionaries and workers.
A plantation drive was conducted in the Langate area of Kupwara, with active participation from students, teachers and school staff.
The plantation drive was led by Shabeer Ahmad Zargar, State Vice-President, BJP OBC Morcha, J&K, and was organised at Daraluloom Anwar-ul-Quraan, Kahipora Qaziabad; Supernaghama Public School, Supernaghama; and Government Middle School, Kralgund, Qaziabad. Students and members of the school staff enthusiastically participated in the programme and planted saplings in and around their respective institutions.
While Addressing , Shabeer Ahmad Zargar and Arun Sethi highlighted the importance of protecting the environment and urged students to actively participate in plantation and other environmental conservation initiatives.
They said that environmental protection requires sustained participation from all sections of society and that educational institutions can play an important role in developing environmental awareness among young people.
They said that the plantation activities in Langate and the ration distribution programme in Jammu reflected the broader spirit of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, which seeks to combine service to society with responsibility towards the environment. |
