NEW DELHI, Sept 25: Senior BJP Leader and Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, Er. Gulam Ali Khatana, said that India's transformation under the visionary leadership of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji is increasingly visible not only in economic progress but also in the lives of ordinary citizens through digital innovation, financial inclusion, indigenous technology and sustainable development.
Er. Khatana highlighted the remarkable expansion of India's digital public infrastructure, particularly the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), which has become an integral part of everyday transactions across the country. UPI recorded 24,162 crore transactions with a transaction value of around ?314 lakh crore in FY 2025-26, reflecting the scale of India's digital transformation.
He also emphasised the importance of financial inclusion and the expansion of formal banking access under the Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana, which has strengthened the delivery of financial services and government benefits to wider sections of society.
Er. Khatana further highlighted India's growing capabilities in indigenous healthcare innovation, citing the development of NexCAR19, India's first indigenous CAR-T cell therapy, developed through collaboration involving IIT Bombay, Tata Memorial Centre and ImmunoACT.
He also underlined the importance of community participation in water conservation, noting that more than 1.58 crore artificial groundwater recharge structures had been constructed across the country under the Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari initiative as of September 3, 2026.
Er. Khatana said these developments reflect a broader transformation in governance and development, where technology, innovation, inclusion and public participation are working together to strengthen the foundations of a self-reliant and future-ready India.
He said that under the visionary leadership of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, the country is steadily building an ecosystem where the benefits of development reach wider sections of society while strengthening India's capacity to meet emerging national and global challenges. |
