KATHUA, Sept 25: Under the guidance of Atul Sharma (KPS), SSP/Commandant, the 19 JKAP IR organised a comprehensive Medical Training and Health Awareness Camp at its Battalion Headquarters in Changran, Kathua.
A specialised medical team from Government Medical College (GMC), Kathua, led by Dr. Anaitullah Ahmad Mir (Professor & Head, Dept. of Materia Medica) and Dr. Javid Iqbal Dar (Associate Professor & Head, Dept. of Physiology & Biochemistry), conducted the camp. Upon arrival, the medical experts were presented with mementos as a token of appreciation. During the camp, the team conducted routine health check-ups and counselled the unit personnel on preventive healthcare and healthy lifestyle choices. Crucially, the experts provided hands-on training and live demonstrations on basic first aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and emergency-response techniques to equip personnel for critical situations.
Commandant Atul Sharma thanked the GMC Kathua team for their invaluable expertise. He stressed that maintaining optimal physical health and mastering basic life-saving skills are vital for police personnel, who frequently operate as first responders in challenging conditions. The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks, reinforcing the Battalion's commitment to the welfare and emergency preparedness of its force. |
