| Apni Party Jammu Urban reviews NC Govt performance, sets grassroots outreach plan | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 26: Jammu Kashmir Apni Party District President Jammu Urban Abhay Bakaya today convened a meeting of the Jammu district unit, attended by all office-bearers, during which a detailed review of the performance of the Omar Abdullah-led National Conference government was undertaken. The meeting also focused extensively on strengthening the party organisation and expanding its grassroots reach across Jammu city.
The meeting witnessed threadbare deliberations on various issues confronting the people, with participants expressing concern over what they described as the failure of the NC-led government to fulfil commitments made to the electorate. The district leadership maintained that the public mandate carries with it the responsibility of delivering concrete results, and that repeated assurances without visible improvement on the ground can deepen public dissatisfaction.The participants alleged that several major poll promises remain unfulfilled and called upon the government to move beyond announcements and assurances and take concrete measures to address issues affecting common people.
The district team expressed particular concern over what it termed the slow implementation of electoral commitments. The participants maintained that people had voted with expectations of improved governance, employment opportunities and relief from their day-to-day difficulties, but many of these expectations were yet to be addressed adequately.
The meeting also discussed the government's decision to provide six LPG cylinders to Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) households. Party leaders described the measure as insufficient in the context of the wider expectations generated during the election campaign and said the benefit should be viewed in the context of the government's broader electoral commitments.
Unemployment among youth emerged as another major concern during the meeting. The district leadership said educated young people continue to face difficulties in finding suitable employment opportunities and sought greater clarity and action on issues concerning the reservation policy.The participants maintained that youth-related issues cannot be addressed merely through assurances and called for concrete employment-oriented measures, transparent recruitment and a clear policy framework.
They also expressed concern that several public grievances continue to remain unresolved despite repeated representations, alleging that the administration's assurances have not consistently translated into effective remedies at the ground level. |
