VIJAYPUR, Sept 29: The Department of Commerce, Government Degree College (GDC) Vijaypur, organised a webinar on "SEBI Investment Awareness" in collaboration with a SEBI-registered institution/consultancy based in Mumbai. The programme aimed to promote financial literacy and create awareness among students regarding responsible investment practices and informed financial decision-making. The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has the primary mandate of protecting the interests of investors in the securities market. SEBI places significant emphasis on investor education with the guiding principle, "An educated investor is a protected investor." Financial education plays a vital role in empowering individuals to make informed and responsible financial decisions.
During the webinar, participants were sensitised to the importance of financial awareness, prudent investment practices, and the need to understand the risks and opportunities associated with various investment avenues before making financial decisions. The session also highlighted the importance of developing financial discipline and awareness at an early stage. |
