Early Times Report POONCH, Oct 3: On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, the Indian Army organised a series of cleanliness and awareness activities under the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan at Jaran Wali Gali (JWG), Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Surankote, District Poonch and Pind Narian, District Rajouri. At JWG, Surankote, The Indian Army personnel conducted a cleanliness drive followed by an awareness lecture on personal hygiene and sanitation. A tree plantation drive involving troops and Ex-Servicemen was also organised, highlighting environmental conservation and collective responsibility. At JNV, Surankote, students participated in an awareness lecture on cleanliness and sanitation along with a Drawing and Essay Competition on Swachh Bharat. A joint cleanliness drive by students and Army personnel was subsequently conducted along NH-44, reinforcing the importance of maintaining clean public spaces. The programme concluded with prize distribution to encourage student participation. At Pind Narian, District Rajouri, the Indian Army organised a cleanliness drive involving Army personnel, Ex-Servicemen and school children. Participants cleaned the school premises and adjoining public areas, collected and disposed of waste and were sensitised about personal hygiene, proper waste disposal and environmental responsibility. |
