| THE-SARA takes project AMRIT to border schools | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 3: THE-SARA a registered Non-Governmental Organization under its flagship Project AMRIT (Assured Mission for Reliable Inclusive Treated Water), has extended its safe drinking water initiative to border areas, providing water purifiers to government schools serving children in the border belt of Jammu. As part of the initiative, THE-SARA team provided water purifiers to Government High School Basti Gulabgarh, Government Boys Middle School Suchetgarh and Government Primary School Abdullian in R.S. Pura zone, strengthening access to safe and treated drinking water for students and staff. The initiative is particularly significant for schools located in border areas, where access to essential facilities can often face additional challenges. Through Project AMRIT, THE-SARA is working to ensure that safe drinking water becomes an integral part of the school environment, contributing to better health, hygiene and well-being of children. THE-SARA team, led by Executive Body Members Ms. Kamla Punj and Ms. Manpreet Kour, carried out the initiative. Field Volunteers Ms. Riya Singh, Ms. Brigu Pawar and Mr. Divayam Khajuria were also present during the distribution and installation of the water purification facilities. The water purifiers will support the schools in meeting their drinking-water requirements and creating a healthier environment for students. Project AMRIT is being implemented by THE-SARA with a focus on government schools, particularly those serving communities where access to reliable safe drinking water requires additional support. The initiative is being expanded across Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, with the objective of reaching more schools in remote, rural and border regions. |
