Ramban, Oct 3: The Volleyball Tournament organized by District Police Ramban under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) at Government Higher Secondary School, Kanthi, Ramban, concluded today with an exciting final match played between Maitra Obaid Club and Sayam Volleyball Club, Chandrog. The final was played with great enthusiasm and competitive spirit, with Maitra Obaid Club emerging victorious by 2–1, thereby clinching the tournament title. Both teams displayed commendable sportsmanship, discipline and teamwork, putting up an impressive performance throughout the tournament. Mushraf Malik was adjudged Man of the Match, while Dr. Obaid Katoch was declared Player of the Tournament. Tehsildar Deep Kumar attended the event as the Chief Guest, while Principal GHSS Kanthi, Sh. Anil Kumar Soni was the Guest of Honour. The match concluded at approximately 1700 hours. The officiating referees, Muzammil Butt and Tirath Singh, discharged their duties efficiently, and their contribution throughout the tournament was appreciated. On the occasion, DySP Headquarters Ramban, Sh. Viqar Yunus Butt JKPS, addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of strengthening Police Public relations through community participation, mutual cooperation and meaningful engagement with youth. He said that the initiative was aimed at “catching them young” by engaging youth in positive and constructive activities, educating them about the menace of drug abuse and safeguarding them from falling prey to substance abuse. He emphasized that such initiatives provide young people with healthy avenues for recreation, sports and personal development. The participants and students were also sensitized about the 112 Emergency Helpline, 1930 Cyber Crime Helpline and MANAS Helpline 1933, and encouraged to make use of these services whenever required. The tournament concluded peacefully in a cordial and sporting atmosphere, providing a valuable platform for promoting sportsmanship, youth engagement, community participation and stronger Police Public relations. District Police Ramban reiterated its commitment to continuing such community oriented initiatives under the Civic Action Programme for the welfare, positive engagement and constructive development of youth. |
