| KVK Reasi educates Rural Youths on Agri-entrepreneurship | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 3: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi under the aegis of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) educated rural youths on“Agri-entrepreneurship development” here at Kheral village in Reasi district of Jammu & Kashmir which was enthusiastically attended by the number of rural youths of the district.The programme was organised under the dynamic stewardship of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. B.N. Triptahi and able guidance of Director Extension (DE), Prof. Amish Vaid of SKUAST-J. Dr. Banarsi Lal, Chief Scientist & Head of KVK, Reasi initiated the programme with the warm welcome of the participants. He spoke in detail on the principles of entrepreneurship and guided rural youths on agri-entrepreneurship for income and employment generation. He also guided rural youths on the production of organic vegetables, dairy farming, poultry farming, fisheries, beekeeping, spices, protected cultivation etc. He said the participants that by the commercial agriculture farmers can increase their crop production and raise the socio-economic status. He further added that hilly areas have an immense scope in organic vegetables cultivation and farmers should produce vegetables of commercial level. He also spoke on the eco-friendly agricultural technologies to reduce the cost of cultivation.They were also suggested to keep their vicinity neat and clean and take actively part in Swachhata Hi Sewa. Sh. Dheeraj Handoo, JKEDI, Reasi encouraged participants on agri-entrepreneurship for income and employment generation.He also elaborated on the various other income generating enterprises for rural youths. Sh.Rakesh Kundal, Development Officer, FPOs Reasi emphasized on the value addition in different crops by which the farm income can be enhanced. He also spoke on the efficient agril. marketing management practices. Rural youths thanked KVK Reasi scientists for guidance on the useful technologies.Youths interacted with the scientists and asked various quarries which were answered satisfactorily by the scientists.The programme was concluded by Sh.Rakesh Kundal with formal vote of thanks. |
