Reasi police arrest six persons in NDPS case

REASI, Oct 6: Continuing its sustained drive against the illegal trade and distribution of narcotic drugs, Reasi Police arrested six persons and recovered 21.09 gm heroin-like contraband during an operation conducted by a police team of Police Station Katra in the Guni Parthal area.
During the operation, the police team noticed a group of suspicious persons near Government Middle School, Guni Parthal. On seeing the police, the suspects attempted to flee from the spot, following which the police team pursued and successfully apprehended all six persons.
During their search, 21.09 gm heroin-like contraband was recovered from their possession, along with a weighing machine and other articles suspected to be associated with the illegal trade of narcotic substances. One sword and two tokas (sharp-edged weapons) were also recovered from three of the arrested accused persons.
In this connection, FIR No. 316/2026 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act, 132, 351(2), 3(5) BNS and 4/25 Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Katra, and all six accused persons have been arrested.
The arrested persons have been identified as:
1. Sanjay Kumar S/o Chain, R/o Didi Pangal
2. Ravi Kumar S/o Om Prakash, R/o Aghar Jitto
3. Mohan Singh S/o Suneet Singh, R/o Didi Pangal
4. Vikram Singh S/o Shankar Singh, R/o Didi Pangal
5. Randhir Singh S/o Sandokh Singh, R/o Parthal, Katra
6. Pardeep Singh S/o Sandokh Singh, R/o Parthal, Katra
Police records further reveal that some of the arrested accused persons are habitual offenders having FIRs already registered against them at Police Station Katra.
Further investigation is underway to ascertain the source of the recovered contraband and identify other persons connected with the drug network.
