AWANTIPORA, Oct 23: Continuing its sustained efforts against drug trafficking and the drug menace, Police Party of Police Post Toll Plaza headed by SI Ishaq Ahmad, InCharge Police Post, during naka checking at Kaigam Crossing, intercepted a motorcycle bearing registration No. JK03P 7032, and apprehended two persons travelling on it.
During preliminary questioning, the persons were identified as Izhan Ahmad Allie S/O Nazir Ahmad Allie and Nazir Ahmad Shergojri S/O Mohd Ramzan Shergojri, both residents of Nowgam, Verinag.
During the search of a bag carried by them, a suspected ganja-like substance weighing *2.074 kg* was recovered. Accordingly, *FIR No. 246/2026 under relevant Sections of the NDPS Act* has been registered at the Police Station Awantipora and further investigation has been initiated.
The motorcycle used in the commission of the offence was also seized.
