The prestigious international parliamentary forum is being attended by Presiding Officers, Members of Parliament and representatives from BRICS member and partner countries. The forum, centred on the theme "Strengthening Parliaments for People-Centric Development," provides an important platform for strengthening parliamentary cooperation, dialogue and mutual understanding among participating nations.
In recognition of his parliamentary responsibilities, Er. Gulam Ali Khatana was nominated by the Hon'ble Speaker, Lok Sabha, to receive H.E. Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council of the United Arab Emirates, on his arrival at Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi, on October 25, 2026.

Speaking on the occasion, Er. Khatana said that the BRICS Parliamentary Forum has emerged as an important platform for promoting parliamentary diplomacy and strengthening cooperation among member and partner countries.
He said that parliamentary engagement and exchange of legislative experiences can contribute significantly towards building greater understanding on issues such as inclusive economic growth, sustainable development, international cooperation and the aspirations of developing nations.
Er. Khatana said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has strengthened its position and voice at international forums. He added that India's approach towards global engagement continues to be guided by dialogue, mutual respect, cooperation and the philosophy of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" - One Earth, One Family, One Future.
Expressing gratitude to the Hon'ble Speaker, Lok Sabha, for entrusting him with the responsibility of receiving the UAE Speaker, Er. Khatana said it was an honour to represent the Indian Parliament while welcoming the distinguished foreign dignitary.
