| Rajouri Cricket: 5-wkt win for Sunderbani-A | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT RAJOURI, June 24: Sunderbani-A today registered a five-wicket win over Eleven Star in a low scoring game to enter the semi-finals of ongoing Rajouri District Cricket Tournament organised under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) at Sports Stadium, here. Despite a good batting by Gurnam Singh, Eleven Star could not make it a big score and bowled out for just 85 runs in 22.4 overs of the 30 overs game after winning the toss and electing to bat first. In reply, Sunderbani-A chased the total in 15.5 overs losing five wickets. Gurman Singh made 31 runs while Komal contributed 17 to Eleven Star total. From Sunderbani-A, Akhil Khajuria and Surinder Kumar took two wickets each while Atul bagged one. Later, chasing a small total, Sunderbani-A attained the winning mark with five wickets in hand sparing 14.3 overs of their innings. Nikhil was top scorer with 32-ball 31 runs including five boundaries while Atul added 19 runs. Gurnam Singh bagged two wickets from Eleven Star, followed by Komal, who took one. Atul was adjudged man of the match for his 19 runs and one wicket. Vijay Kumar and Nazir Ahmed were umpires in today’s match while Anwar Choudhary and Mehmood Choudhary were scorers. NEXT MATCH (quarterfinal): Danshabad XI to take on Sung XI tomorrow at 7.30 am.
