Mahreen, Cokan Clubs register big wins

KATHUA, June 24: Coken Cricket Club and Mahreen Cricket Club (MCC) today registered big wins to advance into the next round of ongoing Satish Sharma Memorial Cricket Tournament organised under the banner of J&K Cricket Association at Sports Stadium, Hiranagar, near here today.
In the first match of the day, Coken Club defeated Stadium XI by a margin of 85 runs. Batting first after winning the toss, Coken Club set a target of 185 runs for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 30 overs, which, in reply, Stadium XI could not chase and bowled out for 99 in 18.1 overs.
Virender Singh was top scorer from Coken Club with 46 (off 29 ball, 3x6, 3x4) runs while Rajinder Singh contributed 35-ball 38 runs including seven boundaries. From Stadium XI, Pankaj bagged five wickets for 16 runs in four overs.
Batting second, Stadium XI lost all their wickets for mere 99 runs in 18.1 overs. Veeru was top scorer with 27 runs while Anku contributed 22. Sushant Sharma and Pankaj took three and two wickets respectively.
In another match of the day, Mehreen Cricket Club (MCC) trounced All Stars Cricket Club by 169 runs thereby making it a one sided contest.
Batting first, MCC set a big target of 239 runs losing all their wickets in 25.3 overs of the 30 overs match. Rampal played superb innings of 84 (off 46 balls, 12x4,, 1x6) runs while Balwinder contributed 14-ball 28. Tarun and Parveen bagged three and two wickets respectively from All Stars Club.
In reply, All Stars Club bundled out for just 68 runs in 12.4 overs. Amit was only batsman who scored in double figure with 16 runs in his account.
