| Udhampur Cricket: HCC wins by 2 wkts | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT UDHAMPUR, June 24: Beating Chenani Cricket Club by two wickets, Habshi Cricket Club (HCC) today moved into the next round of Udhampur District Cricket Tournament organised by Udhampur Cricket Committee under the banner of J&K Cricket Association at Sports Stadium, here today. Earlier, HCC won the toss and opted to field. Batting first, Chenani Club made 110 runs when all their wickets fell for 19.5 overs of the 30 overs match. In reply, HCC chased the total in 25.3 overs with two wickets in hand. Tarun and Ved Raj played fine innings of 30 and 29 runs for Chenani but poor show by rest of the team restricted the side to a small total. Chander was most successful bowler from HCC with four for 24 in six overs. Kishore and Avtar shared two wickets each. Batting second, HCC played slow but steady innings and attained their goal with a boundary. Pankaj was main scorer with 22 runs. From Chenani Club, Varun Baru clinched four wickets and Tarun took two. Chander Dev Singh was declared man of the match for his excellent spell of four for 24. Today’s match was officiated by Rajinder Singh and Dheeraj Sharma as umpires while Gopal Sharma was scorer. NEXT MATCH: Amateur Cricket Club to take on Friends Cricket Club tomorrow.
