EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu , June 24: The J&K Service Selection Board has made selection of 8,086 candidates, against equal vacancies since January this year to June 24, 2009, as against 1,116 recruitments recommended in the same period during last year. The recruitments made are that of 6,075 teachers, 268 lab assistants, 27 physical education teachers, 3 librarians, 170 patwaris, 7 inspectors in Finance Department, 349 account assistants, 44 special assistants, 184 junior assistants, 87 JEs (Mech), 198 JEs (Civil), 431 JEs (Electrical), 35 Draftsmen (Civil), 50 junior stenographers, 104 supervisors in Social Welfare Department, 61 paramedical staff, 1 JE (Chemical), 12 junior employment officers and 1 plumber in Industries Department.
The process for selection of 745 junior assistants, 111 naib tehsildars and 700 drivers is on the fast-track.
Similarly, from January this year, J&K Public Service Commission has recommended 349 candidates for recruitment in School and Higher Education Departments. These are 82 as 10+2 teachers of economics subject, 119 of botany, 139 of mathematics and seven in Kashmiri subject. Besides, one recommendation for the lecturer of Home Science in Higher Education has also been made by J&K PSC.
The people in general and educated youth in particular, have hailed the fast- track recruitment, expressing hope that the pace in recruitment process will continue on accelerated note. They have also expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for giving priority to recruitment of educated youth against available vacancies.
