| Coalition fails to fulfill its poll promises, alleges PDP | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT DODA, June 24: Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today warned to launch an agitation if State Government failed to protect dignity and honour of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. It has expressed its grave concern over increase in the cases of the human rights violation in different parts of the state. Addressing one day convention of the party workers at Doda, party leaders regretted that problems of the masses have been compounded after formation of the NC-Congress regime in the State. They said the coalition regime has so far failed to implement promises made with the people during assembly elections. Party vice-president Ved Mahajan lambasted the Congress-NC coalition for adopting casual approach towards basic problems of the common masses. He said that miseries of the masses have been increased manifold after formation of new regime as government seems to be non serious in solving day today problems of the people. He called upon the party workers to strengthen the party at grass root level. Party general secretary Thakur Balbir Singh exhorted the party workers to expose the misdeeds of coalition regime and spread message of the party at every nook and corner of the State. He said that during the last six months coalition regime has done nothing for the betterment of the common people. District president of the party Sheikh Mujib Ali, Attahullah Khan and others also addressed the meeting. Earlier PDP leaders visited Chenani and Batote areas and constituted bodies for these two assembly segments. Party leadership has decided to constitute bodies at grass root level to strengthen the party.
