| Corruption charges against ex-soldier | | | Early Times Report Jammu, June 25- Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu BL Bhat today framed charges against Sansar Chand, a retired Army personnel for cheating and hatching conspiracy to cheat the unemployed youth by promising them to arrange employment in the police. In furtherance of a criminal conspiracy hatched between accused Sansar Chand and Co-accused Chaman Lal Head Constable of police, accused Sansar Chand made the complainant Tilak Raj to part with bribe amount of 30,000, on the pretext of managing a job for him through accused Chaman Lal who was falsely projected as been posted as PA to DIG Crime & Railway Jammu. Accused Sansar Chand is alleged to have played a role to part with money under the false pretext. The alleged transaction was settled at Rs 60,000 and as first installment accused Chaman Lal demanded and accepted Rs 30,000 from complainant to arrange his recruitment as constable, but failed to carry out the promise. The complainant started demanding money and thereafter filed complaint. Special Judge Anticorruption, while framing the charges, observed that accused Chaman Lal is already convicted and sentenced for committing criminal misconduct by abuse of official position, cheating by impersonation and demanded/acceptance of illegal gratification. On consideration the material collected during the investigation, there is ground for presuming that accused Sansar Chand is guilty of offences punishable u/s 5(2) PC Act 2006 and sections 161/419 and 120-B RPC.
