Temporary relief for Talwara migrants

REASI, JUNE 25 -Keeping in view the hardships & difficulties being faced by the Talwara migrants, Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Mr. Sanjeev Verma has sanctioned temporary relief in favour of all such migrants. Besides, a screening committee has been set up to ascertain the names of all those migrants whose name does not presently figure in the present list.
Mr. Verma further said that other demands like repair of residential colonies and compensation of Rs. 4000 per family shall be brought in the notice of higher authorities for early redressal. However Talwara migrants also demanded the quarterly meeting with the Divisional Commissioner or other higher authority for mitigating their sufferings.
Earlier, over three hundred Talwara migrants including women and children, who were on an indefinite dharna outside the office of Deputy Commissioner Reasi for the last two days, on assurance from the district administration postponed their strike for fifteen days.
