Jammu, Jun 25: A fresh batch of 1,667 pilgrims early today left for Amarnath cave shrine from Yatri Niwas base camp at Bhagwati Nagar here amid tight security cover, an official spokesman said.
A convoy of 54 vehicles, including 25 buses of State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC), nine private buses and 20 light motor vehicles, left for the Baltal base camp for the holy shrine, the spokesman added.
The pilgrims in this group also included 308 women, 60 children and 533 Sadhus, he informed. The yatra remained suspended from here yesterday following a heavy rush of pilgrims en route the holy shrine.
