| Congress close to its cabinet list | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 26: The Congress is yet to sort out the issue regarding giving representation to legislators belonging to Doda district in the cabinet. Initially the Pradesh Congress left it to Ghulam Nabi Azad to choose one among three legislators, Abdul Majid Wani, GM Saroori and Mohammed Sharief Niaz. Azad wanted cabinet berth for two legislators but the PCC opposed it on the plea that there were other districts which had no representation in the cabinet and it was not possible to induct two legislators from one district in the ministry.
Party sources said that the Congress leadership will wait for another day for Azad to make up his mind and in case he failed to make a choice the party would pick up one among the three for the cabinet post. The party has finalized the name of other seven candidates.
According to the sources, the Governor, NN Vohra, is scheduled to return from Delhi either today or tomorrow. Once Vohra is back in Srinagar the cabinet expansion may take place either on Sunday or on Monday.
