MP says sub-standard material being used in Basohli-bani road

KATHUA, (BASOHLI), JUNE 26: Member Parliament Udhampur-Kathua Parliamentary constituency today inspected ongoing construction work of Basohli- Bani road, constructed by GREF at an estimated cost of Rs. 15 crore under Prime Minister Gram Sadak Yojana.
While inspecting the construction work of Basohli-Bani road, Mr. Singh found that the executing agency was using sub-standard construction material for the road and protection walls causing discontent among the locals. He asked GREF officers to immediately stop the work and penalize the Contractor, Mr. Rakesh Gupta. Highlighting the policy of Centre and State governments to create durable assets in the state, he asked the authorities to use quality material on development works.
Interacting with the villagers, MP said government is fully aware of the problems of remote and far-off areas. For this purpose, the government has provided sufficient funds for completing the ongoing projects to fulfill the aspirations of all sections of the society in Jammu and Kashmir.
To deal with water scarcity at village Kharladh in Basohli, he asked the SDM, Basohli to arrange a water tanker daily so that the people do not face any inconvenience during summer month. Regarding improvement in power supply, he asked the PDD authorities to provide un-interrupted power to people.
A large number of people of Sandhar, Batada, Jandrota, Jandrali and Basohli also met the MP and put forth their problems including repair and renovation of link roads, repair of faculty hand pumps, construction of primary school building, Kharladh under SSA, upgradation of lanes and drains etc.
Singh gave patient hearing to them and most of the projected problems were solved on the spot. Regarding construction of Primary school building at Kharladh, he informed that the state government has sanctioned funds for speedy completion of the school building. He asked the executing agency to complete the ongoing construction before the start of classes after summer vacation.
