| Gp. Capt Vithalkar takes over 39 Wing | | |
Udhampur, July 1- Gp. Capital P M Vithalkar, alumnus of the National Defence Academy and a graduate of the Defence Service Staff College, today took over the command of 39 Wing Air Force.
Commissioned in IAF in June 1985, Gp. Capt Vithalkar served as a flying instructor at the Air Force Academy. Graduate of Air Force Test Pilot School, Vithalkar served as an experimental test pilot at the Aircraft and Systems Testing Establishment. He commanded a Mi-8 helicopter unit in 2003-05 and for his distinguished service he was awarded Yuva Sena Medal in 2006.
