| Army kills three militants in Doda | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 1: Three militants were killed in an encounter with army in Doda district of Jammu, official sources said on Wednesday.
According to defence ministry spokesman, Lt Col Biplab Nath the troops of 8 Rashtriya Rifles launched an operation at Doodwah, 10 kilometers north of Doda following inputs about the presence of militants in the area.
As the troops were advancing, militants opened indiscriminate firing which was retaliated.
In the ensuing gun battle that started around 5PM, three militants were killed, he said. The operation was still in progress when last reports came in, he added.
Regarding the identification and group affiliation of the slain militants, the spokesman said that it was being established.
