| Randir submit memo to FC | | NCP for ensuring equitable dev. of all regions | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 3: Thakur Randhir Singh NCP chief J&K state has attended the meeting of the 13th finance commission held in Srinagar and submitted the memorandum to the chairman of the commission. While giving a resume of the memorandum Singh said in the backdrop of the diacritical elements of security development, regional balance countenanced in Jammu and Kashmir state, finance commission should engage itself more effectively to purvey a strong financial base to overcome the problems in the development. It is being increasingly realized that a sustainable paradigm of financial devolutions should not only look at the state perspective but address the micro cult to respond to regional aspirations. The economic problems of J&K State are inextricable linked up an enmeshed with varying levels of development of three regions, namely, Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh manifesting a delicate equipoise which can be strengthened by following specific approach. Thakur said that the finance commission should look at the infrastructural gaps particularly in the contest of regions in the state and make appropriate recommendations far ensuring equitable development through differentiated approach. This will go a long way in furthering development with equity and would be in conformity with the need for a strong federal structure through decentralized and regional specific approach.
